About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine analyses and screening of organic and inorganic substances to determine hazardous waste composition
- Conduct fingerprint screens and wet/organic chemistry methodologies
- Sample incoming bulk loads to determine packaging and disposal requirements
- Maintain analytical equipment and documentation in compliance with QA/QC procedures
- Assist facility personnel with approval paperwork for hazardous waste disposal
- Perform periodic audits of analytical logs for regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related discipline
- 24-Hour HAZWOPER Training
- Ability to work with hazardous materials and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry
