Chemist I

Responsibilities

• Perform pharmaceutical testing including HPLC, GC, TLC, UV, dissolution, and IR spectroscopy
• Conduct testing in strict accordance with all pertinent SOPs and laboratory practices
• Critically evaluate and audit analytical data
• Write technical analytical reports and laboratory procedures
• Perform routine testing under the guidance of a senior level mentor analyst
• Solve moderately complex problems by following prescribed and detailed procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical industry practices
• Understanding of health authority regulations and guidances
• Strong analytical laboratory skills and ability to perform mathematical computations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Ability to operate computer-based data acquisition systems for chromatography
• Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment with regular exposure to chemicals, solvents, and fumes
