Chemist I

Responsibilities

• Perform organic syntheses following SOPs to manufacture compounds for company products
• Monitor reactions in-process using HPLC and TLC to determine progress
• Purify reactions using size-exclusion chromatography, flash chromatography, and recrystallization
• Analyze purified products via HPLC and TLC to determine purity levels
• Interpret NMR and MS spectra to determine the identity of synthesized compounds
• Operate automated dispensing, lyophilization, crimping, and labeling equipment
• Complete production documentation including batch records, work orders, and checklists
• Participate in inventory control, laboratory maintenance, and cycle counting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, or an Associate's degree with equivalent experience
• Familiarity with organic chemistry techniques including chromatography and rotary evaporation
• Knowledge of HPLC, NMR, and MS
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Ability to follow laboratory safety instructions and use required protective equipment
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work at a lab bench or in a cleanroom environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship experience in a related field
• Prior manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of cGMP and/or ISO certification
• Experience with JDEdwards or other ERP systems
• Knowledge of automated vialing or bottling equipment and mechanical troubleshooting skills
