Chemist – Chemical Laboratory

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analyses and laboratory testing using advanced analytical techniques on mineral powder, metallic materials, and finished products
• Develop, improve, and validate analytical methods to support research, product development, and manufacturing
• Select, adapt, and optimize analytical methods to achieve accurate and reliable results
• Maintain and update laboratory instructions, specifications, and documentation
• Take responsibility for assigned laboratory equipment and analytical systems
• Support and advise chemists across ESAB’s global laboratory network
• Participate in and lead laboratory-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to the quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, production sites, suppliers, and external partners

Requirements

• University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in both Swedish and English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Methodical and organized approach to laboratory work
• Proactive, curious, and innovative mindset
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with analytical/inorganic chemistry and laboratory testing
• Laboratory skills in techniques such as XRF, XRD, OES, and/or ICP
• Experience from the chemical, metallurgical, steel, or manufacturing industry
• Experience working in an ISO-regulated laboratory environment
