Chemist

Responsibilities

• Manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) within a cGMP regulated environment
• Install, operate, and maintain manufacturing and in-process testing equipment, including HPLC/UPLC, lyophilizers, and reactors
• Perform solid phase and liquid phase synthesis, including deprotection and cleavage using chemical cocktails
• Execute purification processes via chromatography and crystallization
• Follow approved GMP manufacturing directions, including Master Batch Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain accurate GMP documentation, investigate deviations, and assist with equipment calibration programs
• Manage raw material orders, inventories, and coordination with QA/QC and Material Management
• Maintain and organize work areas and ensure proper disposal of chemical waste

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field (or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
• Experience using general lab instrumentation such as HPLC or UV Spectrometry
• Knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and chemicals
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GMP manufacturing
• Experience in the manufacture of peptides and oligonucleotides
