Chemist

Responsibilities

• Manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) within a cGMP regulated environment
• Install, operate, and maintain manufacturing and testing equipment including HPLC/UPLC, lyophilizers, and reactors
• Perform solid phase and liquid phase synthesis, including deprotection and cleavage using chemical cocktails
• Execute purification processes via chromatography and crystallization
• Follow approved GMP manufacturing directions, including Master Batch Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain GMP documentation, investigate deviations, and assist with equipment calibration programs
• Manage raw material orders, inventories, and coordination with QA/QC
• Maintain and organize work areas and ensure proper disposal of chemical waste

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field (or 10+ years of relevant experience)
• Experience using general lab instrumentation such as HPLC or UV Spectrometry
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and chemicals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GMP manufacturing
• Knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations
• Experience in the manufacture of peptides and oligonucleotides
