About the role
Responsibilities
- Test a wide array of materials including adhesives, elastomers, polymers, tapes, composites, and metals for compliance with drawings and specifications
- Work in a wet lab environment following all safety procedures and common lab protocols
- Write scientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions
- Utilize specialized equipment such as FTIR, DSC, hardness gauges, and mechanical testing machines
Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in Materials Engineering or Chemical Analysis
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
- Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications
- Understanding of material testing and analysis, including hardness, adhesion tests, sample preparation, and cross-sectioning
- Experience performing and managing high-volume, highly technical work
