Chemical Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and control chemical process equipment, making adjustments to meet safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Monitor process control systems, including recording instruments, flowmeters, gauges, and panel alarms.
• Charge materials into precipitators and operate valves, conveying systems, and field instrumentation.
• Draw samples of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to perform chemical analysis.
• Record process readings, instrument conditions, and operating information in shift logs.
• Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, cleaning, and purging for routine and emergency situations.
• Conduct visual inspections for leaks and hazards and complete all required inspection paperwork.
• Maintain plant housekeeping and perform ESHQ related tasks as documented in the Management System.
• Enter data into SAP enterprise management software and utilize MS Office for data analysis.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to progress through a job training program and perform multiple roles within a production setting.
• Ability to function effectively within a high-performance team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-high school training in a technical or manufacturing-related field.
• Basic skill level with Microsoft Office software.
