Chemical Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate chemical processing equipment and monitor unit conditions to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible production
• Perform rounds and field quality testing to check process equipment, product quality, and control systems
• Use troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve process deviations and upset conditions
• Follow standard work processes, safety practices, and environmental standards
• Participate in root cause investigations for unplanned events
• Train new unit operating personnel and share operating knowledge
• Accurately record asset utilization losses and monitor key unit metrics

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school
• Ability to follow all safety and environmental standards
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Mechanical aptitude for working with processing equipment
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry and control systems
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and climb stairs
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (DuPont Schedule), including weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Experience with SAP and/or Delta V
