Chemical Operator IV

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, and emergency response procedures in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Operate and monitor reactors, pumps, mixers, and filtration systems to meet production targets and optimize efficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot process deviations or mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and perform laboratory final QC for outbound finished goods.
• Execute batch processes following strict specifications and maintain accurate process logs for traceability.
• Mentor and train new operators, reinforcing safety practices and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and lean manufacturing/5S efforts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of experience in chemical operations or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of process controls, troubleshooting techniques, and quality assurance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory compliance standards including OSHA, EPA, DHS, PSM, and FRA.
• Clear understanding of distillation principles for running concentrators, fractionation units, and distillation columns.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment, specifically Gas Chromatography (GC) for organic composition detection.
