Chemical Batching Technician I

Responsibilities

• Formulate liquid chemical products for packaging or bulk shipment
• Unload and stage raw materials; fill batch tanks and monitor quality
• Operate valves, pumps, agitators, and other manufacturing equipment
• Collect samples for lab analysis
• Interface with process controls and HMI panels during batch mixing
• Operate hoists and powered industrial trucks/forklifts using safe techniques
• Load and unload bulk tanker trucks and raw material containers
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and perform work area rounds
• Follow safety programs including LOTO, confined space entry, and PPE protocols

Requirements

• Ability to lift 55 lbs of raw materials
• Ability to fulfill PPE requirements (safety footwear, eye protection, respirators, chemical resistant clothing, fall protection)
• Ability to complete hazardous material and hazard communication training
• Willingness to work outside in the elements
• Basic understanding of manufacturing operations
• Ability to assist with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures
• Strong verbal communication skills for reporting changes and problems

Preferred Qualifications

• High school education preferred
• Chemical manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with OSHA standards
• Forklift certification
