About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations in a remote camp setting
- Order food ingredients and plan menus including dietary restrictions
- Supervise kitchen staff productivity and compliance with health and safety policies
- Train, develop, and mentor employees
- Ensure food preparation follows FOODSAFE and HACCP methods
- Conduct bi-weekly inventory checks
- Manage labour and chemical resources effectively
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in hospitality or food service as a Chef
- Valid Safe Food certificate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of menu costing, recipe implementation, and wage control
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyperson or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
- Experience in hotels, resorts, or remote lodges
