Chef

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations in a remote camp setting
• Order food ingredients and plan menus including dietary restrictions
• Supervise kitchen staff productivity and compliance with health and safety policies
• Lead training, development, and mentoring of employees
• Ensure food preparation follows FOODSAFE and HACCP methods
• Conduct bi-weekly inventory checks
• Manage labour and chemical resources effectively

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in hospitality or food service as a Chef
• Valid Safe Food certificate
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, GFS, and Outlook
• Extensive knowledge of menu costing, recipe implementation, and wage control
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyperson or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
• Experience in hotels, resorts, restaurants, or remote lodges
• Expertise in international and domestic cuisines
