About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently run and maintain a main Galley section, ensuring high-quality food production and service standards
- Follow set recipes and dish guidelines while maintaining immaculate recipe folders
- Prepare daily electronic food requisitions and countercheck deliveries for accuracy
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and service align with Viking STAR Service Standards
- Maintain economical work practices to minimize food wastage
- Enforce strict Public Health Policies and "clean as you go" work habits
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year or 2 contracts of shipboard or premium hospitality experience in the same role
- Advanced culinary skills
- Fluency in both Japanese and English for interpreting menus and recipes
- Experience leading multi-cultural teams
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs (30kg) on a daily basis and work long hours (minimum 11 hours a day, 7 days a week)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
