About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently run and maintain a main Galley section, ensuring high-quality food production and service standards
  • Follow set recipes and dish guidelines while maintaining immaculate recipe folders
  • Prepare daily electronic food requisitions and countercheck deliveries for accuracy
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and service align with Viking STAR Service Standards
  • Maintain economical work practices to minimize food wastage
  • Enforce strict Public Health Policies and "clean as you go" work habits

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year or 2 contracts of shipboard or premium hospitality experience in the same role
  • Advanced culinary skills
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English for interpreting menus and recipes
  • Experience leading multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs (30kg) on a daily basis and work long hours (minimum 11 hours a day, 7 days a week)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
