About the role

Responsibilities

  • Organize section mise-en-place production and service shifts
  • Supervise and assign tasks to Demi Chefs and Commis Chefs
  • Manage food requisitions, dry stores, and stock rotation to ensure high standards
  • Monitor food preparation regarding portion size, quantity, and quality according to recipe indexes
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized bakery section
  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine in composing new recipes and menu ideas
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding fire, hygiene, and safety
  • Report machinery failures or equipment issues to the Chef de Cuisine

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a bakery or pastry section
  • Ability to supervise junior culinary staff and ensure task completion
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and personal hygiene standards
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing stock and mise-en-place
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain good colleague relations
