Check Out Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test welded joints of work in progress and completed units for visible defects, correct dimensions, and conformance with blueprints and work orders
• Use magnaflux machines and ultrasonic testing equipment to inspect joints for hidden cracks and pits
• Verify alignment and dimensions of products and the setup of machines and fixtures
• Identify and mark defective pieces, recommending scrapping or rework methods
• Record inspection data and identify products requiring x-ray, U.T., or dye checks
• Comply with all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in the field or a related area
• Strong knowledge of welding principles and metallurgical properties
• Ability to use magnaflux and ultrasonic testing equipment
