Check Out Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test welded joints of work in progress and completed units for visible defects, dimensions, and conformance with blueprints.
• Use magnaflux machines and ultrasonic testing equipment to detect hidden cracks and pits.
• Examine joints for flaws such as cracks, cold welds, spatter, and undercuts using flashlights and magnifying glasses.
• Verify alignment and dimensions of products and machine setups.
• Mark defective pieces and recommend scrapping or rework methods.
• Record inspection data and identify products requiring x-ray, U.T., or dye checks.
• Comply with all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong knowledge of welding principles and metallurgical properties.
• Ability to use magnaflux and ultrasonic testing equipment.
