Charge Registered Nurse - RN

Responsibilities

• Function as the hemodialysis team leader, providing day-to-day direction and supervision to patient care staff
• Assess daily patient care needs and develop appropriate patient care assignments
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret and adjust patient care plans
• Monitor and supervise all patient care activity during dialysis treatments
• Administer medications to patients per physician orders and respond to emergency situations
• Train and orient staff while ensuring compliance with facility policies, state, and federal regulations
• Supervise the documentation of patient information and the safe use of all medical equipment
• Educate patients and families regarding End Stage Renal Disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medication

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN)
• Current and appropriate state RN licensure
• Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience
• Minimum of 3 months of clinical dialysis experience
• Successful completion of a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience
