About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise, organize, and distribute workload among technical staff to ensure efficient laboratory operations
- Perform laboratory procedures and ensure the completion of assigned workloads within the immunopathology discipline
- Maintain quality control, equipment maintenance, and inventory management systems
- Develop, implement, and maintain new or revised testing procedures, protocols, and performance standards
- Assess technical staff performance and provide coaching
- Document procedures and test results through written and electronic reports
- Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO)
- Five years of recent laboratory experience specifically in immunohistochemistry
- Computer literacy and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of recent supervisory experience in a related discipline
