Characterization Scientist

Responsibilities

• Support the development of parenteral formulations for various biotherapeutic modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, proteins, mRNA, and vaccines
• Perform comprehensive characterization of candidate molecules using HPLC (SE-HPLC, IEX, HIC, RP-HPLC), Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE), and spectroscopic techniques
• Conduct particulate characterization using light obscuration and microflow imaging
• Provide general laboratory support, including reagent ordering, equipment maintenance, and participation in laboratory inspections
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support formulation optimization and candidate progression
• Prepare data summary presentations, manage datasets, and utilize laboratory data systems such as Empower and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs)

Requirements

• BS in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biology, or an equivalent field
• 1+ years of industry experience utilizing chromatography (preferably HPLC)
• Familiarity with biologics such as proteins, enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA, or antibody-drug conjugates
• Knowledge of analytical techniques used for biologics characterization
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Capillary electrophoresis and other advanced analytical techniques
• Strong computer skills and experience with lab-based computer systems
• Proven ability to collect and analyze complex data sets
