Characterization Scientist

Responsibilities

• Support the development of parenteral formulations for various biotherapeutic modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, proteins, mRNA, and vaccines.
• Perform comprehensive characterization of candidate molecules using HPLC (SE-HPLC, IEX, HIC, RP-HPLC), Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE), and spectroscopic techniques.
• Conduct particulate characterization using light obscuration and microflow imaging.
• Provide general laboratory support, including reagent ordering, equipment maintenance, and participation in laboratory inspections.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support formulation optimization and candidate progression.
• Prepare data summary presentations, manage datasets, and utilize laboratory data systems such as Empower and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs).

Requirements

• BS in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or an equivalent field.
• 1+ years of industry experience utilizing chromatography (preferably HPLC).
• Familiarity with biologics (e.g., proteins, enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA) and their analytical characterization.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Capillary electrophoresis and other advanced analytical techniques.
• Strong computer skills and experience with lab-based computer systems.
• Proven ability to collect, manage, and analyze complex data sets.
