About the role

Responsibilities

  • Administer the daily operations of the Chapman Learning Commons Help Desk and related programs.
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise a large group of 10+ student Peer Advisors, including managing schedules and payroll.
  • Oversee the equipment lending pool, including cataloguing, maintenance, inventory, and ordering of AV and technological equipment.
  • Manage library fine processes, including processing appeals, queries, and resolving complex overdue issues.
  • Provide technical support and basic training for patrons and staff on Mac workstations, scanners, and other equipment.
  • Develop and document procedures for equipment use, data collection, and workflow improvements.
  • Coordinate data collection and reporting to support program analysis and decision-making.

Requirements

  • High School graduation and a Library Technician diploma (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3 years of experience working in an academic library environment.
  • Proven experience hiring, training, and supervising a student staff of 10 or more.
  • 3 years of experience using Voyager and managing library fine appeal processes.
  • Proficiency with WordPress and intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg of boxed materials and perform physical tasks such as setting up furniture.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
