Chaplain

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care services to patients, loved ones, and staff across all faith traditions
• Deliver chaplaincy services according to the Standards of Practice of the Association of Professional Chaplains
• Meet the ritual and sacramental needs of patients and their families
• Participate in the on-call schedule to maintain 24/7 coverage of chaplaincy services
• Collaborate with community ministers, volunteers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide spiritual care education and support to hospital staff through individual or group debriefings
• Contribute to the professional field of healthcare chaplaincy through research, teaching, or authorship

Requirements

• Master's level degree in a field related to healthcare chaplaincy
• Must be certified, or eligible for certification, as a Board Certified Chaplain by a national certifying body (e.g., Spiritual Care Association or Association of Professional Chaplains)
• If not already certified, must obtain certification within two years of hire date
• Demonstrates personal accountability and maintains current knowledge in the field

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of previous experience in hospital chaplaincy
