CFD Simulation Intern - Hydrogen Technologies

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CFD models for 3D flow analysis in complex distribution structures (flowfields) and stack components
• Investigate the influence of component tolerances and mechanical pressings on flow behavior
• Simulate gas and liquid transport in porous transport layers (e.g., GDL / PTL)
• Validate CFD simulation results against real measurement data and analytical models
• Prepare results for interdisciplinary development and testing teams
• Support automation of simulation workflows using scripts in Python or MATLAB

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Process Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar
• At least 4th semester of study
• Very good knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
• Proficiency in German and English
• Analytical thinking and independent working style

Preferred Qualifications

• Initial experience with 3D CFD software
• Knowledge of PEM fuel cells or electrolyzers
