About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent and routine care in a 24-hour animal care center during overnight shifts (10 pm to 8 am)
  • Perform phlebotomy, sample acquisition, and laboratory sample processing
  • Assist with surgical procedures, dental prophylaxis, and anesthesia monitoring/recovery
  • Triage incoming patients based on urgency and available resources
  • Execute safe patient handling, movement, and low-stress restraint
  • Maintain biosecurity, cleanliness, and isolation protocols
  • Interpret medical records and assist with the implementation of written treatments
  • Engage in collaborative meetings to provide feedback on hospital processes and efficiency

Requirements

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential
  • Proficiency in radiograph positioning and capturing images
  • Experience with surgical assistance and laboratory testing
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with caregivers and staff
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and client histories
