Responsibilities

• Ensure proper supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready for use
• Clean operating room between cases and restock as necessary
• Assist the RN circulator and anticipate surgeon's needs
• Maintain sterile technique and report any breaks in protocol
• Perform proper hand scrubs and assist in gowning/draping
• Ensure proper counting of sponges, instruments, and sharps
• Prepare and preserve specimens
• Verify medication name, strength, and dosage with circulator
• Maintain integrity of instruments and operate designated equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
• CST certification verified via NBSTSA
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of current Surgical Tech experience in an OR setting
