Certified Surgical Scrub Tech

Responsibilities

• Assist operating room staff in preparing for each surgical case
• Position and prepare patients for surgical procedures, including tourniquet application and draping
• Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique and establish the sterile field
• Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time-out procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs by passing instruments and supplies during procedures
• Hold retractors, sponge or suction the operative site, and cut suture material as directed
• Assist the surgeon with suturing the incision site
• Apply post-operative dressings, splints, casts, or other requested DME items
• Manage variable hours based on scheduled cases and participate in a call rotation

Requirements

• Active NBSTSA CST certification or NCCT TS-C certification
• High School diploma or better
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience
• Minimum of 1 year of operating room experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher
• Additional technical or specialized training
