Certified Phlebotomy Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy duties in an outpatient setting under the direction of the Radiology & Laboratory Services Manager
• Handle specimens appropriately and ensure accurate data entry and retrieval
• Instruct patients on self-collection procedures
• Work cooperatively with team members to provide high-quality laboratory services
• Maintain discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential patient information
• Adhere to infection control procedures and medical safety standards

Requirements

• 2 years of licensed phlebotomy experience in a high-volume outpatient or hospital setting
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including experience with difficult-to-stick patients
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory tests, and infection control
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• California State CPT Certificate (required upon hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required upon hire)
• Ability to pass a background check, Live Scan, physical examination, and TB test

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of licensed phlebotomy experience in a high-volume outpatient or hospital setting
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and multi-task with accuracy
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a changing environment
