Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment, and program planning
• Implement components of the therapy process and identify patient learning needs
• Teach patients and families to support recovery and independence
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow physician orders
• Apply professional standards of practice and regulatory compliance in all job functions

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Successful completion of the National Certification Examination for COTA
• Current, valid, and active COTA license in the state of employment
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of professional experience in an occupational therapy setting
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with computer and software applications used in clinical functions
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
