About the role
Responsibilities
- Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and adhere to community documentation guidelines
- Record treatments given and progress notes in medical record
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area
- Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans
- Record treatment charges per the community policy and procedures
- Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in a maintenance program
- Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behavior
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) therapy program
- Current state licensure for Texas
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience, or 1 year in acute care, skilled nursing, or AL/MC
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR Certification
- Experience evaluating and treating residents with memory impairment
