Certified Nurse Midwife

Responsibilities

• Provide full scope nurse-midwifery services including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care
• Perform history and physical exams on new and returning clients
• Manage acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as ultrasounds and blood tests
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and identify high-risk pregnancies
• Administer medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labor
• Provide emotional support and guidance during labor, pregnancy, and loss
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Maintain active hospital delivery privileges

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in nursing with a specialization in midwifery
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the AMCB

Preferred Qualifications

• Illinois license, DEA, and CDS
• 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Midwife or Labor and Delivery Nurse
