Certified Medication Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with preparing and administering medications ordered by the physician
• Administer prescribed, routine medications and treatments in accordance with company policies
• Observe residents for adverse reactions to medications and report concerns to the supervising nurse
• Take and record vital signs prior to medication administration
• Document medication administration immediately in the resident’s record
• Maintain neat, clean, and orderly medication rooms and carts
• Provide personal care services and assistance with activities of daily living
• Answer medical alert calls in a prompt and polite manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Current Medication Aide Certification issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing
• Active Ohio CMA certification
• Active CPR certification
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/STNA) certification
• 12 months of direct care experience as a CNA/STNA preferred
