About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties within the scope of practice, including operating diagnostic equipment, performing EKGs, and collecting blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary sticks.
  • Room patients according to policy, prepare them for examinations, and record patient care documentation accurately in medical records.
  • Assist physicians and nursing personnel with various procedures, including wound dressing changes, staple removal, and specimen collection.
  • Organize and maintain exam and treatment rooms, ensuring they are stocked, cleaned, and that medical instruments are sterilized using an autoclave.
  • Provide quality customer service and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Conduct telephone and in-person screenings for intake and information gathering.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment).
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers (required at time of hire or within 30 days).
  • Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Proven knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to pass Tuberculosis screening and provide proof of immunity to required vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Proven knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Bilingual skills.
