Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical intake, including recording vital signs and patient history
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, specimen collection, and exam preparation
• Schedule appointments, process medication refills, and handle referrals
• Complete prior authorizations and answer patient calls
• Maintain clinical supplies, equipment, and proper biohazard storage
• Clean exam rooms and instruments to maintain infection control
• Assist providers with minor in-office procedures and point-of-care testing

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent adult education program
• Active Medical Assistant Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment)
• CPR and/or BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to employment)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software
• Experience with injections, immunizations, phlebotomy, and urinalysis
• Experience with medical front office tasks such as scheduling and prior authorizations
