Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients in person or via telephone and assist with inquiries
• Prepare patients for visits by directing them to exam rooms and assisting with positioning
• Verify patient information, record medical history, and take vital signs
• Support clinicians during examinations and assist with minor surgeries or procedures
• Perform clinical tasks including drawing blood, taking EKGs, administering injections, and removing sutures
• Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic on-site laboratory tests
• Maintain exam rooms by stocking supplies and ensuring equipment is operational
• Complete medical records by accurately documenting examinations, treatments, and test results
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and verifying receipts
• Maintain a safe environment by following all federal, state, and local healthcare standards

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification
• Current CPR Certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office practices

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
• Ability to speak Spanish
