About the role
Responsibilities
- Support patients' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport.
- Perform technical duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care.
- Document all results and technical findings appropriately.
- Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the RN immediately.
- Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a high-quality patient care environment.
- Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training.
- Active Patient Care Technician certification (CPT, CPCT-A, or ACMA).
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
