About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support patients' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport.
  • Perform technical duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care.
  • Document all results and technical findings appropriately.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the RN immediately.
  • Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a high-quality patient care environment.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training.
  • Active Patient Care Technician certification (CPT, CPCT-A, or ACMA).
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
