Certification Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead certification processes with the FAA from application through compliance planning and testing
• Interface with the FAA to develop regulatory frameworks for electric propulsion systems and eVTOLs
• Develop certification strategies for new and Amended Type Certificates
• Manage in-house and consultant FAA designees and implement delegation criteria
• Lead development of conformity inspection plans and processes
• Develop policies and standards to achieve FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA)
• Interact with foreign regulators on Type Certificate validation and airworthiness certificates

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in aircraft development and FAA certification processes
• Working knowledge of aircraft or engine certification project sequencing
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multi-stakeholder environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365
