About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead certification processes with the FAA from application through compliance planning and testing
- Interface with the FAA to develop regulatory frameworks for electric propulsion systems and eVTOLs
- Develop certification strategies for new and Amended Type Certificates
- Manage in-house and consultant FAA designees and implement delegation criteria
- Lead development of conformity inspection plans and processes
- Develop policies and standards to achieve FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA)
- Interact with foreign regulators on Type Certificate validation and airworthiness certificates
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft development and FAA certification processes
- Working knowledge of aircraft or engine certification project sequencing
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multi-stakeholder environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365
