About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to the Certification Center to ensure compliance with quality goals, performance standards, and ISO regulations.
  • Manage the issuance of Certificates of Conformity to facilitate trade through timely and consistent provision of opinions.
  • Ensure all Certification Center processes comply with relevant standards, including ISO 17020 and ISO 17065.
  • Assume the role of CC Technical Manager in designated fields per international standards.
  • Act as a certification reviewer on the EAC Ready certification scheme.
  • Define risk assessments for specific product groups and make final decisions on escalated cases.
  • Monitor results and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another technical university degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in conformity assessment work.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 17020 and ISO 17065 standards.
  • Expertise in product certification processes and essential product specifications.
  • Competent knowledge of trade and export procedures, technical regulations, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work on weekends and on a rotation shift basis (Morning, Mid, or Night) as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in technical regulations (WTO-TBT rules), standardization, or quality assurance.
  • Previous experience with SGS TFS services.
  • Background in management systems auditing (QMS, EMS, etc.) or laboratory testing.
  • Experience in import/export, customs brokerage, or banking procedures.
