Central Sterile Supply Technician

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes following manufacturer guidelines and departmental procedures.
• Utilize the Steris IQ tracking system to ensure proper documentation of all sterilization processes.
• Inspect and assemble surgical instrument kits and case carts.
• Adhere to Hospital Sterile Processing Department policies and AAMI guidelines.
• Expedite the turnover of surgical instrumentation to support patient care.
• Maintain high productivity and time management standards to support department growth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to obtain IAHCSMM or CSPDT certification within 2 years of hire.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and physical stamina, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and various chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience or training in a sterile processing environment.
• Previous experience as a Central Sterile Technician.
