Central Sterile Supply Technician

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes following manufacturer guidelines.
• Utilize the Steris IQ tracking system to document all steps within the sterilization process.
• Inspect and assemble surgical instrument kits and case carts.
• Adhere to Hospital Sterile Processing Department policies and AAMI guidelines.
• Expedite the turnover of surgical instrumentation to ensure efficient patient care.
• Maintain high productivity and time management standards to support department growth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to obtain IAHCSMM or CSPDT certification within 2 years of hire.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and physical stamina, including standing, walking, and repetitive motion.
• Ability to lift and carry items ranging from 10 to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience or training in a sterile processing environment.
• Previous experience as a Central Sterile Technician or in a related medical field.
