Central Sterile Supply Technician

Responsibilities

• Follow manufacturer's guidelines for steam and low temperature sterilization and departmental procedures for documentation using the Steris IQ tracking system
• Perform decontamination and disinfection of instrumentation and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines
• Inspect and assemble surgical instrument kits and case carts
• Adhere to Hospital Sterile Processing Department policies and AAMI guidelines
• Expedite the turnover of surgical instrumentation to support patient care
• Maintain high productivity and time management standards to support department growth

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to obtain IAHCSMM or CSPDT certification within 2 years of hire
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive motions
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience or training in a sterile processing environment
• Previous experience as a Central Sterile Technician
