Central Processing Technician II

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination
• Follow accurate hand-washing procedures and infection control policies using appropriate personal protective equipment
• Utilize the instrument management system for tracking, identification, and documentation during tray assembly
• Prioritize the assembly of trays and instruments to meet the specific needs of supported clinical areas
• Manage the distribution of trays and individual instruments during the case cart assembly process
• Perform manual documentation of tasks as required to ensure compliance and safety

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid CPD Certification
• Experience using an Instrument Tracking System
• Knowledge of key sterilization techniques and Hospital Infection Control policies
• Working knowledge of high-level disinfection equipment (e.g., AER, TEE Probe Reprocessor, and GUS machines)
• Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain an organized workspace
