Central Processing Technician II

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort, and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination
• Adhere to infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and consistent use of required PPE
• Utilize instrument management systems to track, identify, and document instruments throughout the tray assembly process
• Prioritize tray and instrument assembly to support clinical needs and ensure timely availability for patient care areas
• Complete manual documentation and recordkeeping to support departmental workflows and compliance standards

Requirements

• Valid CRCST Certification
• Experience using an instrument tracking system to scan, track, and document surgical instruments and trays
• Demonstrated knowledge of core sterilization techniques and Hospital Infection Control policies
• Working knowledge of high-level disinfection equipment, including AERs, TEE probe reprocessors, and GUS machines
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
