Central Heating Plant Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, hire, and evaluate approximately 5 hourly staff members
• Manage the 24/7 schedule of CHP operations staff
• Coordinate and maintain oversight of all plant maintenance activities, including biomass, boiler, and turbine services
• Ensure plant safety procedures are followed, including lockout/tag-out and PPE
• Serve as CHP Operator for 60% of the weekly schedule
• Support departmental safety and regulator compliance regarding air pollution control permits

Requirements

• 3-5 years of previous related experience
• Related education and certifications in power plant operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of steam and electric generating systems
• Troubleshooting skills for electrical, steam, condensate, oil, biomass, feed water, propane, and air systems
• Experience with control system operations and troubleshooting
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
