CEI Inspector

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors and verification testing
• Perform daily inspections on complex construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Monitor on-site construction activities and prepare daily and weekly reports using Site Manager software
• Review periodical pay estimates with contractors for accuracy and track completed work quantities
• Perform field sampling and testing of component materials in accordance with client scope of services
• Inspect traffic control devices and monitor Work Zone Traffic Control to ensure compliance with standards
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily operations and significant project events
• Participate in the development and observation of job safety practices

Requirements

• High School Diploma and an Associate's Degree in a technical or construction-related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 5+ years of related experience in construction inspection
• Ability to work daytime, nighttime, and/or weekend shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to earn the following within 6 months: FDOT Field Concrete Technician, FDOT WECS, Erosion Control, ATSSA Advanced Traffic Control, or Nuclear Radiation Safety Certificate
• Passing scores on FDOT’s Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Training tests (Groups 1, 2, and 3)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited university
• EIT License, if applicable
