CEI Inspector II

Responsibilities

• Perform independent complex inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials
• Supervise other inspectors conducting routine and standardized inspections
• Inspect asphalt, concrete, pavement, and structural materials for conformance to plans
• Perform contract documentation duties including field measurements of pay items
• Participate in Concept Meetings, Field Plan Reviews, and project close-out
• Perform project engineering duties on smaller construction projects as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of progressive transportation technician experience
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, and equipment
• Proficiency in mathematical functions including geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and contract provisions
• Valid driver's license in accordance with Georgia Law
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Qualifications

• GDOT WECS certification
• GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification
• GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control)
• Passing scores on GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests
