CDL Instructor

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in CDL vehicle operation, including tractor trailers and buses
• Teach parking maneuvers such as straight back, offset, and parallel parking
• Guide students through pre-trip and in-cab inspections
• Prepare simulator program materials, assignments, and tests
• Evaluate, correct, and grade student performance
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and refueling
• Provide instruction on safe driving in city, highway, residential, and rural environments
• Demonstrate defensive driving and emergency handling techniques
• Teach state vehicle laws, including speed limits and accident reporting
• Administer curriculum-related tests

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Clean driving record
• Two years of relevant experience
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical ability to climb in and out of trucks and buses
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A License
• Teaching or law enforcement background
