CDL Hi-Rail Railroad Technician

Responsibilities

• Apply herbicides for weed, grass, and brush control along railroad tracks
• Mix tanks and calibrate spray equipment for accurate application
• Perform daily truck inspections, routine maintenance, and system repairs
• Maintain accurate daily and weekly operational records
• Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines and federal regulations
• Identify various vegetation types to determine proper application methods
• Communicate professionally with customers to address any concerns

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 21+ years of age
• Valid CDL Class A or B with tanker and air brake endorsements
• 5 years of clean driving experience
• Ability to travel away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and federal background check
• Ability to work flexible hours, including 10–12 hour shifts and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating manual transmission trucks
• Prior experience in Hi-Rail or vegetation spraying
