CDL Guardrail & Highway Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Install and set up highway guardrail layouts
• Handle and place materials for guardrail installation
• Load and unload materials on flat-bed trucks or trailers
• Operate Post Pounder/Driver Truck and other highway maintenance equipment
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and brooms
• Use power tools including chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, and backpack blowers
• Interpret plans and schematics
• Perform roadway maintenance tasks including clearing drainage and patching pavements

Requirements

• Class A or B CDL
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving
• Construction background or experience
• Ability to work night shifts (7 PM to 5 AM)
• Physical endurance for lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
