CDL Examiner

Responsibilities

• Administer appropriate levels of CDL testing in compliance with federal and state laws
• Check CDL testing candidates in BASS to ensure eligibility
• Enter CDL test results into BASS to facilitate license issuance
• Verify candidate TPR eligibility using CSTIMS
• Enter candidate information and scores into CSTIMS for scheduling and record-keeping
• Assist with the maintenance of the CDL test pad, including cone placement and replacement
• Coordinate with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Class A Driver License
• Current certification as a Third-Party CDL Examiner issued by the Ohio Department of Public Safety
• Minimum of 3 years of Class A CDL experience
• Proficiency with BASS and CSTIMS computer programs
• Basic computer skills and ability to read/interpret technical procedures or government regulations
• Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
